The Minor Arcana

If the Major Arcana represents the "big direction" and "soul lessons" in life, then the 56 cards of the Minor Arcana describe the "detailed data" of our daily lives.

It encompasses your work stress, emotional fluctuations, interpersonal conflicts, and financial situations. The most efficient way to learn the Minor Arcana is not to memorize 56 stories, but to grasp two core logics: "The Four Elements" and "The Number Scale."

1. The Four Elements: Properties of Energy (The Four Elements)

The Minor Arcana is divided into four suits, each corresponding to one of the four basic elements that make up the world. Understanding the elements helps you understand the "essence" of the issue.

  • Wands (Fire): Action, intuition - passion, execution, competition, initiation of new plans.
  • Cups (Water): Emotion, relationships - emotional feelings, interpersonal connections, intuition, mental state.
  • Swords (Air): Rationality, thought - logical analysis, communication, decision-making, conflict, and stress.
  • Pentacles (Earth): Material, sensory - financial matters, physical health, outcomes, stability.

2. The Number Scale: Stages of Development (The Number Scale)

Each suit has number cards from 1 to 10. These numbers represent the cyclical stages of something coming into existence, flourishing, and then ending.

  • 1 (Ace): Seed and beginning. Pure energy, infinite potential.
  • 2 - 3: Taking the first step and initial results. Starting to interact or plan with others.
  • 4 - 6: Stability and challenges. Things enter the mid-stage, possibly feeling bored (4), encountering conflict (5), or achieving small victories (6).
  • 7 - 9: Struggle and accumulation. Facing the peak of pressure (7, 9) or the passing of experience (8).
  • 10: Endpoint and transformation. Energy reaches saturation, about to enter the next cycle.

3. Court Cards: Personality Traits (The Court Cards)

Each suit also has 4 court cards, representing the roles or attitudes in handling matters.

  1. Page: Learner or messenger. Like a curious intern, bringing new messages.
  2. Knight: Executor and sprinter. Represents action and change, but may also indicate a lack of deep consideration.
  3. Queen: Maintainer and feeler of energy. Represents mature inner strength, management, and nurturing.
  4. King: Authority and decision-maker. Represents control over the big picture, professional ability, and influence on the external world.

4. How to Use This Logic?

When you draw a Minor card, try to combine the "element" and "number." For example, if you draw "Wands (Fire)" + "Number 5 (Conflict)", you can immediately deduce: there is chaos and competition at the level of action or execution.

This "matrix-style interpretation method" allows you to derive precise answers through logical reasoning even when you forget specific card meanings.
