The Prototype of the Core Soul - The Major Arcana

If we compare tarot cards to a movie of life, then the 22 Major Arcana are the 22 core scenes in the film. These 22 cards (numbered 0 to 21) describe the journey of a soul from ignorance to experiencing challenges and transformations, ultimately achieving completeness, which is also known in the divination world as "The Fool's Journey."

When we draw a Major Arcana card in a reading, it signifies that the issue we are facing touches upon the "big direction" or "deep personality transformation" in life, rather than just everyday trivial matters.

2.1 Taking the First Step of the Journey: The Fool (0)

Keywords: Beginning, innocence, adventure, uncertainty, freedom.

Story of the Card

At the edge of a cliff, a young person carries a small backpack, gazing at the sky, as if the path ahead is not a dangerous abyss but a future filled with sunshine. A small dog at their feet jumps around, warning them of danger, but they appear fearless and carefree.

Modern Reality Interpretation

The "Fool" represents a "reset" state. It reminds us that sometimes, in pursuit of true freedom, you must let go of all prejudices and fears and bravely take that step forward.

  • In Career: It represents a brand new plan or a job change. Although you may not yet have a perfect business plan, that "why not give it a try" spirit is exactly what you need right now.
  • In Relationships: It may herald an unexpected encounter or a relationship that defies the rules. This relationship may not have a clear outcome, but it will bring you unprecedented life experiences.
  • Advice for You: Do not fear failure, and do not be trapped by excessive logical analysis. Now is the time to trust your intuition and take a leap of faith.

2.2 The Beginning of Creation: The Magician (1)

Keywords: Action, resource integration, creativity, communication, manifestation.

Story of the Card

The Magician stands before a table adorned with a wand, a cup, a sword, and a coin (the four elements of tarot). One hand points to the sky, and the other points to the ground, symbolizing his ability to transform divine inspiration into tangible reality.

Modern Reality Interpretation

If the "Fool" represents courage, then the "Magician" represents "ability." He signifies that you already possess all the tools needed to solve the problem; now you just need to integrate them and take action.

  • In Career: It indicates that you are the leader of this project. You have enough skills and communication abilities, making this a great opportunity to showcase your personal charm.
  • In Relationships: It symbolizes a vibrant and communicative relationship. You can skillfully manage the interactions between the two of you, keeping the relationship fresh.
  • Advice for You: The cards you hold are better than you think. Focus on your goals, unleash your creativity, and you now have the ability to turn ideas into reality.

2.3 The Tranquil Wisdom: The High Priestess (2)

Keywords: Intuition, subconscious, inner wisdom, silence, mystery.

Story of the Card

The High Priestess sits quietly between two black and white pillars, with a curtain behind her separating her from the external world. She holds a scroll of wisdom and stands on the moon, symbolizing her mastery of that subtle, ineffable intuitive power.

Modern Reality Interpretation

In contrast to the Magician's outward expression, the "High Priestess" represents "inwardness." She reminds us that the answers are not outside but within your heart.

  • In Career: Now is not the time for major actions. It is advisable to observe the changes, gather information, or listen more to your inner voice (that "something feels off" intuition is often very accurate).
  • In Relationships: It represents a spiritual connection or a relationship that is more subtle and profound. Sometimes it also hints at a relationship that cannot yet be made public, or that you need some time alone.
  • Advice for You: Practice silence and learn to listen. Do not rush to make decisions; let the truth of the situation gradually reveal itself over time.

The first three cards of the Major Arcana represent the journey from "courage (The Fool)" to "action (The Magician)," and then to "wisdom (The High Priestess)." When you feel stuck in life, you can ask yourself: Do I need the Fool's enthusiasm, the Magician's skills, or the High Priestess's calm?
